Bio:

Gloria Ines was an alchemist who had a fondness for Mother Nature. She would conjure up medicines to heal people with using natural items such as herbs. However, she was misunderstood by her town and she was tried for witchcraft and executed after being found "guilty". After her death, Gloria embedded her soul into one of the forests in Portugal and thus came to life a half-plant, half-human monster and has become the Scourge of the Forest under her new name Aumentea. The once-humble human woman has rendered herself into a misanthrope and now vows to kill those who'd "threaten plant life".

Gameplay Info:

Special Moves

  • Vine Grab: Aumentea flings her vine whip at her opponent and drags him/her towards herself.
  • Poison Kiss: She blows a kiss in the form of a purple fireball that hurdles at her opponent.
  • Grown From Dirt: She summons 1 to 3 (depending on input) giant vines that hit her opponent.
  • High-Powered Thorns: She shoots a bunch of needles from her left hand at her opponent.
  • Vine Trap: Similar to Sinestro's Final Shackles in Injustice: Gods Among Us; Aumentea summons a vine that swirls around her opponent and traps him/her.
  • Flower Portation: A flower bud grows where Aumentea is standing and closes her up inside with its petals. The flower descends down and reappears behind the opponent, opening up releasing Aumentea.
  • Circling Petals: Aumentea surrounds herself in a circle of petals that acts as a shield barrier. It covers her for 10 seconds unless something hits it.

Finishing Moves:

Vanquishment

Visceral Fertilization: Aumentea stabs her opponent in the chest and, accompanied by an X-Ray vision shot a la Mortal Kombat, her vine sword shoots a bean into the opponent's heart. The shot cuts to normal as Aumentea removes her sword from the opponent's chest. The opponent begins to feel funny for 3 seconds until vines start growing out from inside him/her. The bloody vines that grow tear apart the opponent's arms, hands, legs, feet, and head.

Quick Deaths

  • Poison Kiss: The opponent melts into a skeleton.
  • Grown From Dirt: The opponent is impaled onto a giant vine.
  • High-Powered Thorns: The opponent bleeds out everywhere and falls down dead.

Misc. Info:

  • Voice Actor: Jessica Gee
  • Intro Sequence: A giant flower bud grows out of the ground and opens up, releasing Aumentea. Aumentea twirls around with her vine sword and then goes to her battle position saying, "You will now face Mother Nature's wrath!"
  • Victory Sequence: Aumentia folds her arms under her breasts while still holding the vine sword. She laughs and says, "How does it now feel to be desecrated all over?" and then walks to her suddenly-grown-from-the-ground throne made of tree bark and leaves. She sits on it, crosses her legs, and blows a kiss to the camera as she is surrounded by living plant life.
  • Stage: Forest Area
  • Rival: Jean d'Arc

Story Mode:

Intro Cutscene:

(We're treated with a landscape view of a town located in Portugal.)
-Judge (v/o): "We are gathered here today to testify against the witch Gloria Ines!"
(Cut to a courtroom where we see Gloria Ines being tried for witchcraft.)
-Judge: "You are charged for the practice of occult activity, which includes witchcraft! What do you have to say for yourself, Lady Ines?"
-Gloria: "I'm not a witch, I swear!"
-Male audience member: "Liar! She is undoubtedly a witch!"
-Female audience member: "We've caught her using magic, which a tool of the devil!"
-Judge: "Calm down now! Now tell us, Gloria. Why should we let you go?"
-Gloria: "First of all, I'm an alchemist. And secondly, I wanted to cure people of certain illnesses."
(Cut to a flashback showing Gloria Ines nature walking in a forest, then her working on medicine through alchemy using the ingridience she found from the forest.)
-Gloria (v/o): "When I was traveling around the forest, I was inspired to make new ingredients for medicine. And yet, you wish to scrutinize me just for alchemy?"
(Cut back to the courtroom.)
-Judge: "Gloria, we here in this god-given town forbid witchcraft of any kind, and this even includes your little alchemy. As the law says, anyone practicing such Satanic arts must be put to death. So I hearby sentence you to death by burning!"
*audience cheers*
-Random audience member: "BURN THE WITCH!!!"
-Gloria: "No."
(Cut to a public execution scene where we see the towns people declaring Gloria's death just because she was an alchemist. Gloria is seen tied to a big wooden stake.)
-Elder: "God declares in holy scripture, "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." You will be in eternal torment for you have dabbled into one of the devil's favorite projects!"
-Gloria: "Please, let me go! I wasn't harming anyone!"
-Elder: "Sorry but no! We will not allow a whore of Satan such as yourself be around this town."
(The town's elder sets the screaming Gloria on fire, burning her at the stake. The audience cheer in celebration as she is burning to her death.)
-Elder: "The witch is gone, my lords and ladies! May she never enter Heaven for she is damned by the lord Jesus Christ!"
(Cut to the next day, taking place at a forest. We see a demonic hand holding what seems to be Gloria Ines's soul and putting her into the forest's circular area.)
-Gloria: "W-what's going on?"
(Vines start growing from the ground, wrapping around her everywhere until giant petals arise form the ground and swallow her inside. After 5 minutes, the petals open up, revealing Gloria now transformed into a green-skinned woman.)
-Gloria: "So, this must be my new body. It feels as if I am now awakened."
(Plants start to grow around her and she caresses them.)
-Gloria: "My precious babies. Don't worry there. Mama will eradicate all living creature of flesh and blood, only then will I make the world a wonderland for you all."
(The same demonic hand from earlier gives Gloria a vine sword.)
-Gloria: "Thank you father. Gloria Ines is no more. I shall be known as Aumentea, the Scourge of the Forest!"

Prologue:

In societies populated by practitioners of an Abrahamic faith, whether it be Christianity, Judaism, or Islam, occult activities are taboo and are never accepted in these societies, no matter how kind hearted someone performing that stuff may be. Gloria Ines was a victim to such persecutions. A student in alchemy, Gloria was inspired after nature walking where she would make pharmaceutical potions that use ingredients from alchemical practice and natural specimen like herbs. However, she was suspected for a witch by her village and was executed by burning. A day after her death, her soul was dragged by a demon and was embedded into a random forest, creating a plant/human hybrid that would be known as the "Scourge of the Forest" under  a new name, going from Gloria Ines to Aumentea.

Rival Cutscene:

(Scene takes place in a circular arena surrounded by mountains, skulls, and crooked pillars with pointy ends and the sky is covered in clouds with colors ranging from grey to blackish blue. Aumentea walks towards the circle and sees the fabled Sphere of Wonders.)
-Aumentea: "Well well well, if it isn't the legendary object everyone is crazy for. The Sphere of Wonders."
(Jean d'Arc arrives on her horse behind Aumentea. She is holding her banner flag up.)
-Jean: "Back off, fiend!"
-Aumentea: "A fiend you say? The only fiend here is you, a fleshling."
-Jean: "H-how could you say that?"
-Aumentea: "I am Aumentea, the Scourge of the Forest. I terrorize humanity for they have been harming plant life for far too long."
-Jean: "What are you talking about?"
-Aumentea: "No respect for Mother Nature. You, Maiden of Orleans, are part of the problem."
-Jean: "I've never hurt anyone, and plants just happen to be specimens created by God. Not to mention..."
(Aumentea whips the flagpole in half, enraging Jean.)
-Aumentea: "This God of yours is to ignorant to comprehend Mother Nature. I have my own holy, or unholy as you would say it, father."
-Jean: "Well whatever your unholy father is..."
(Jean hops off her horse and gets out her sword and shield.)
-Jean: "Both you and him are getting things all wrong. God created plant life..."
-Aumentea: "And he was a fool! He does not care what happens to my babies! I do! My father does!"
-Jean: "They're just little plants!"
-Aumentea: "This is why I cannot trust any of you humans! You will die just like the ones who I have slaughtered before!"

Final Boss Cutscene:

(After defeating Jean d'Arc, Aumentea sees the Sphere of Wonders and walks towards it, only to be carried over to Hell. Aumentea is greeted by Belial, who already has his trident Nequitius with him.)
-Aumentea: "Who are you and what do you want?"
-Belial: "I am Belial. I see you are after the Sphere of Wonders, correct?"
-Aumentea: "This Sphere of Wonders must be a wishing artifact that will automatically make anyone's dreams come true. "
-Belial: "Oh, because of what Ozedal raised you to aspire?"
-Aumentea: "You... you know of my father?"
-Belial: "Of course! I met Ozedal long ago after one of Satan's colleagues created him from the ashes of the deceased fertility god Pan. He had a sinister mindset like us, wanted the world to be in turmoil like we do, but his agenda was different than ours."
(Cut to a flashback of Belial at a forest in Earth, talking to the demon he previously refers to as Ozedal. Ozedal resembles a giant humanoid with a head that looks like a goat's skull with fangs, curved horns and blue glowing eyes. His skin looks like it's made of bark, has rock-hard spikes coming out of his shoulders, and appears to have grasslike abdominal hair.)
-Belial (v/o): "Because Ozedal had that nature-sympathizing side of him like the satyr he was born from, when I asked him to join us, he flipped me off and decided to dwell in a forest, preferring to cause ruin to human souls his own way. This explains how you were reborn from a regular human being who dabbled in alchemy to what you are now."
(Cut back to Aumentea and Belial.)
-Belial: "I am sorry, but I am still keeping the Sphere of Wonders from you whether you like it or not! You just want to make the world a paradise for plant life!"
-Aumentea: "How do you know about my ambition?"
-Belial: "Because Ozedal took your soul and fused it with the forest rather than letting your soul come here in Hell, which would've been a delight for me! I care not about any form of life on Earth, and that includes plant life. They are only fucking plants after all!"
-Aumentea: "I can sense your ignorance, Belial. You may be the Prince of Darkness, but this doesn't excuse keeping my wish from happening!"
(As Aumentea summons a giant venus flytrap to attack Belial, Belial stabs it with Nequitius and tears the head off. This enrages Aumentea.)
-Belial: "Don't try and use those cheap tricks in sending Mother Nature after me! Ozedal is a fool for having revived you! I should've killed him a long time ago!"
-Aumentea: "Hmpf! So you aren't as smart as you appear to be. Now hand the sphere to me!"

Ending:

(Aumentea pushes Belial aside and walks to the Sphere of Wonders.)
-Aumentea: "You wish to get in the way of what I desire, Belial! Perhaps you would like to pay a visit to my father."
-Belial: "You mean that tree-hugging pathetic excuse of a demon? Bite me, plant wench!"
-Aumentea: "Sphere of Wonders, take me and Belial to Ozedal."
-Belial: "No!"
(After making a wish, Aumentea whips the sphere in half. The scene cuts to a forest at nighttime where Aumentea and Belial are teleported at. They both stand before Ozedal.)
-Belial: "W-where are we?"
-Ozedal: "You are in Aumentea's birthplace, Belial."
-Belial: "Ozedal?"
-Aumentea: "Finally."
-Ozedal: "How can you not allow my daughter to accomplish her goal? After all, you don't care for the human race yourself."
-Belial: "That may be true, but that doesn't mean I also care about mother nature like your bitch of a daughter!"
(Aumentea whips Belial's torso off.)
-Aumentea: "He's becoming such a nuisance."
-Ozedal: "My daughter, you are free to raise all of Hell against the human race, and without BELIAL BEING A LITTLE SHIT ABOUT IT!!!"
-Aumentea: "Thank you, father. The fleshlings will tremble as my children rise from persecution. They will know what pain is like for them like what they've inflicted upon plant life."
-Ozedal: "Excellent."
(Cut to the next day. The village Aumentea came from when she was human is under attack, as a giant mass of vines this side of Cthulhu Mythos (think Nyarlathotep's true form, but replace the tentacles with vines) arises in the forest. The vines begin to tear apart the village, killing people in it as well as destroying buildings.)
-Woman: "AIIIIIIII!!!"
-Men #1: "We're under attack, my lords and ladies! THe vines are attacking us!"
-Men #2: "We must find the source of it!"
(Cut to a couple of guardsmen and a bishop rush towards the forest where Aumentea dwells in.)
-Guardsman: "We shall destroy this destructive stalk! Your excellency, pray that we make it out alive."
-Bishop: "Yes, my son."
(Aumentea ambushes them)
-Guardsman #1: "A plant demoness!"
-Guardsman #2: "What is she doing here?"
-Bishop: *holds crucifix up* "Back, you she-devil! You will not get in the way of these fine heroes!"
(Aumentea laughs at the bishop trying to use a crucifix against her. She then proceeds to fling her vine sword around the bishop's head and chops it off.)
-Guardsman: "YOUR EXCELLENCY!!!... Huh?"
(Aumentea traps one grieving guardsman in vines and walks towards him. Meanwhile vines are killing some of the other guardsmen trying to fight them off.)
-Guardsman: "What are you?"
-Aumentea: "Remember Gloria Ines?"
-Guardsman: "Gloria? You mean you're the witch we executed a long time ago?"
-Aumentea: "Yes, but I don't go by that name anymore, darling." *places hands onto Guardsman's cheeks* "Call me Aumentea from now on."
(Aumentea smoothes the trapped guardsman, releases him from the vines and the guardsman becomes under her control. His eyes start to turn purely white and he kills all the remaining guardsmen who weren't attacked by the vines. After killing one last guardsman, the possessed guardsman's flesh begins to melt off, rendering him into a bloody skeleton.)
-Aumentea: "Ahahahahaha! Your world will now belong to Mother Nature!"
(Scene cuts to two swords clashing eachother to form an X in front of a shield that fades to existence, followed by the text "EPIC BLADES" emerging from behind the shield, followed by the credits with a montage of character renders and screenshots from each character's story mode as well as Sevendust's "Corrected" playing throughout.)
For those of you who've read my recent journal, Now that I have finished with hidden characters, it's time for me to move on to DLC, starting with 1st Seasons Pass! Now then, onto Aumentea.

This particular character is pretty much my answer to these less-human plant ladies we be seeing in medias. What less-human plant ladies you ask? Poison Ivy, possessed Sam Manson from Danny Phantom, Zyra from League of Legends, D'Vorah from Mortal Kombat X.... oh wait, she's a bee woman, or, as Ferra calls her, "bug lady".

Let me try again: Poison Ivy, possessed Sam Manson, Zyra, Sarah Kerrigan from Starcraft... NO! What am I saying? She's a half-Zerg and Zergs aren't even plant aliens!

Hopefully I get this right: Poison Ivy, possessed Sam Manson, Zyra, Axle the Red from Mega Man X... nevermind, that's a male plant person.

One more try: Poison Ivy, possessed Sam Manson, Zyra... you know what, f*ck it! These are all the plant women I can think of for now who are similar to eachother, though I do know of the dryads from Greek mythology. But anyways, let's just talk about Aumentea and what she's all about already!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aumentea is like an amalgam of two characters with "Ivy" in their name, Ivy Valentine from SoulCalibur and, yes, Poison Ivy from DC Comics. Like both Ivys, Aumentea has a busty, curvacious figure and her voice would be considered rather... attractive to say the least. Now like Ivy, Aumentea uses a whip sword which is actually a vine weapon. Meanwhile, like Poison Ivy, Aumentea is a plant person who was once a human being, her kiss leads negative effects on her victims, and she is evil.

Well, as a human she was once decent and nice. However, after being burned in the stake (do keep in mind that people were into witch hunts during the olden days, as it is illustrated in her story intro), her soul became fused with a forest and thus a misanthropic plant hybrid is born. In short, Aumentea is like a medieval version of Poison Ivy as well as a sinister version of Ivy Valentine.

Oh yeah, and I would like to point out something about a goat-like forest demon named Ozedal. That's a character I decided to have for a role as the demon who makes Gloria Ines into the "Scourge of the Forest" known as Aumentea. If you've heard of a story called The Great God Pan (one of the earliest stories that inspired H.P. Lovecraft to get into writing), Ozedal is partially based on the titular lovecraftian (even before Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos) god who might be the Greek fertility goatman known as Pan. In the story, there is a half-human offspring of Pan's named Helen Vaughan who seduces men and makes love to them, only for the lives of the men she sleeps with to come crashing down horrifically due to Helen's eldritch nature. So whenever there's instances of Ozedal being involved in story mode, you might notice the references to Pan from the story.
